Professor Garret Miyake is the co-founder and CTO of New Iridium. Prof. Miyake earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry at Colorado State University (CSU). As a postdoctoral researcher, he worked with Nobel Laureate Prof. Robert Grubbs at California Institute of Technology. He is currently an associate professor in the Department of Chemistry at CSU where his research group executes high-impact research for significantly improving process efficiency via light-driven processes. He has published more than 60 scientific papers in top-tier journals such as Science, JACS, Angewandte Chemie and ACS Nano. Prof. Miyake’s research includes photoredox catalysis, synthetic organic chemistries, functional polymer synthesis, photonic crystals, and additive manufacturing. Sustainable photocatalyst technology is one of many inventions developed in the Miyake lab.
